Accountability

There is definitely something to be said for people who can truly be accountable for their actions, whether they be good or bad.

There is definitely something to be said for people who can truly be accountable for their actions, whether they be good or bad.

I am sure you have experienced a time in your life when you have seen someone own up to a mistake or poor decision, taking accountability for their actions. That ability to take ownership of how they have carried themselves is admirable and something we should all aspire to.

Because regardless of the consequences, it is only once we are accountable for who we are, and the decisions we make, that we can grow as people.

Let’s face it, everybody makes mistakes. I have certainly had my fair share. And in my younger years I would have definitely looked to cast the finger of blame to protect myself. But what do I learn from this? Nothing. Because if I am not accountable, I am excusing myself from learning from my mistake. I am telling myself it is ok to simply move on without any ownership or repercussions.

In this Paleo Way journey, you will need to be accountable for your decisions and actions in every aspect of your world. And you must be accountable to yourself, no-one else. Because at the end of the day, that is who you need to be answering to. If you can hold yourself accountable, you will thrive because whether you make good choices or bad, you will learn what is right and wrong, without looking to cast blame on others for your mistakes.

Lets take your training in this program for example. You must be accountable to completing your sessions each week. So, for example, if you miss a workout by deliberately sleeping through your alarm, don’t blame anyone or make excuses. Own the fact that you didn’t fulfil the commitment you made to yourself to better your health. Ask yourself how it made you feel missing your workout, and then ask yourself how much better you would have felt if you had made the effort to get up and complete your session.

Accountability to ourselves is vital, especially as you undertake this incredible life changing journey, so please. Cut the excuses and commit to living your best life. Make yourself accountable to the most important person in your world, you.
